Language Lab Installation at Durgapur Women’s College, West Bengal

Durgapur Women’s College installs the state-of-the-art language learning software, iTell, from the house of Oréll. iTell-S2, the Standard edition of Orell Language Lab was configured at the college smart room with one teacher console and thirty student consoles, by Mr. Abhinav, Oréll's Technical Support Executive.
iTell standard version is helpful to enhance Listening, speaking, reading & writing (LSRW) abilities of students through the listen-in, respond & record options. Teachers can monitor students’ learning and can evaluate their progress. Real-time lesson editing, assigning lessons to students in batches/ classes/ sessions/ students, audio recording, text creator etc are the major features of the teacher consoles. Students can learn any language using this advanced tool. They can self-evaluate the repeated passage after comparing with the original, listen and write, submit the files to the instructor console for evaluation, call instructor and refer dictionary to name a few.
Durgapur Women’s College, instituted in 1980, has been established as a first degree college with the express aim of education of girl students living in the vicinity of the Steel City of Durgapur. The foundation stone of the College was laid on 5th April, 1981 by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Sri Jyoti Basu. However, the College had already started functioning from the academic session of 1980.
